YouTube Updates Policies on AI Content and Low-Quality Videos

AI综合 · 已去除偏见 · 仅事实

YouTube has clarified its monetization policies to address concerns about artificially intelligence (AI)-generated content and videos deemed unsuitable for advertising. The changes aim to define which types of videos will not be eligible to earn revenue through ads.

The updated policies specifically target what YouTube refers to as “AI slop” – low-effort, mass-produced AI-generated content with little original thought or creative value. While the platform allows AI-generated content, it is cracking down on videos that primarily consist of repetitive scenes, basic prompts, or lack substantial contribution.

The company also detailed its stance on upsetting or sensationalized content. YouTube stated it will not monetize videos that depict tragic events in a disrespectful manner or are designed solely to shock viewers. This includes content focused on death, serious accidents, natural disasters, and other sensitive topics if presented without sufficient context or sensitivity.

According to TechCrunch, the policy updates aim to ensure that ads aren’t displayed alongside content that violates YouTube's community guidelines or lacks reasonable value for viewers. The changes are effective immediately and will be enforced through automated systems and human review.
