The pair previously worked together on “Hit Man” and “Everybody Wants Some,” and will now focus on the life of Gehrig, a Hall of Famer known for his remarkable durability. He played in a then-record 2,130 consecutive games.
Details about the film’s plot or release date have not yet been announced, but the project signifies another collaboration between Linklater and Powell after their successful previous ventures. Universal Pictures will handle distribution of the untitled Lou Gehrig film.
