PBS SoCal, ABC7, and KMEX Lead 78th L.A. Area Emmy Nominations

The TV Academy announced nominations for the 78th annual L.A. Area Emmy Awards on Tuesday, with PBS SoCal, KABC/ABC7, and KMEX leading the tally. The nominations highlight a year of significant local reporting, as coverage of last year’s devastating fires and the aftermath dominate the selections.

Regarding the specific nomination counts, PBS SoCal landed 29 nominations. KABC/ABC7 received 21 nominations. KMEX, noted as a Univision outlet, was also recognized among the leading stations.

The annual ceremony is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 25. The event will be held at the Skirball Cultural Center.
