The artificial intelligence company produces the large language model Claude, according to the Washington Examiner. The outlet reported that Anthropic filed the paperwork on Monday and in doing so moved ahead of rival OpenAI in the race to the stock market.

The New York Times reported that Anthropic has seen growth over the last year. The publication attributed this growth largely to technology that can automatically write computer code. The New York Times described the company as racing rival OpenAI to the stock market.

TechCrunch reported that the company said Monday it has filed confidentially for an IPO.

The Washington Examiner characterized Anthropic as an "AI giant" in its reporting on the filing.
